Troy Savings Bank Music Hall

  • Distinguished historian of racial justice movements Dr. Peniel Joseph will be speaking Wednesday night, April 19 at 7 p.m. at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in Troy, New York.

Both plucked from the relative obscurity of their hometowns and the south. The pair quickly became audience favorites. instrumental in helping propel idol to the top of the Nielsen ratings nearly tripling the viewership of the previous season and securing its place as one of the most consequential TV series in American history. Their new tour "Twenty" will kick-off on Wednesday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m. at The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in Troy, New York.
  • Empire State Youth Orchestra’s Symphony Orchestra will return to Troy Savings Bank Music Hall on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. with a concert that celebrates spring. They’ll perform Aaron Copland’s “Appalachian Spring” and Li Huanzhi’s “Spring Festival Orchestra.” This concert will also feature Yu-Heng Wang, one of ESYO’s two 2023 Lois Lyman Concerto Competition winners, performing Bartok's Viola Concerto.
  • Albany Pro Musica will present the Capital Region premiere of "Star Song" by Bradley Ellingboe, APM’s composer-in-residence on March 5th at 3 PM at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. This work bridges historical periods, languages, and faith traditions and examines the idea that we are all, in the words of Carl Sagan, “made of star stuff.” We get a preview this morning with Opalka Family Artistic Director of APM José Daniel Flores-Caraballo and composer Bradley Ellingboe.
  • Sam Torres is a Troy based composer, multi-instrumentalist, and audio engineer. His new album “Still” is available today. The atmospheric and calming album of improvised saxophone and live electronics music is a culmination of years of experimenting and development. It was recorded in 2020 at The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall.

  • The ESYO season begins on Sunday, October 30th at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall with ESYO's flagship Symphony Orchestra performing Beethoven's 7th Symphony; a work Beethoven described as the "glory of light through darkness." The concert also features Gabriella Smith's Field Guide, a musical safari into the natural world, as well as surprising percussion interventions in the Beethoven Symphony and a student-led instant composition.
