  • FilmColumbia, now in its 22nd year and Columbia County’s premier annual cultural event, will once again light up the screen with the very best–and the latest–national and international films. Screening some 45 films from October 21 - 30, FilmColumbia 2022 will feature festival-favorite releases from acclaimed directors.
  • For the seventh year, Adirondack Theatre Festival (ATF) will produce the Adirondack Film Festival-- again in the hybrid model which was highly popular last year. This year’s screenings will take place at the Charles R. Wood Theater and Crandall Library in downtown Glens Falls. The Queensbury Hotel will host an opening night reception on Thursday, October 13. The festival will open with an evening of music videos capped by "Blondie: Vivir en la Habana," a short documentary about a path-breaking concert in Cuba by iconic new wave band Blondie, and a Q&A with director Rob Roth.
  • Karen Allen who executive produced and stars in the film - "A Stage of Twilight" - is bowing at the Woodstock Film Festival on Friday, September 30th. In this final chapter of their marriage, Barry’s wife Cora, played by Karen Allen, struggles with his impending death and the decisions he makes about his final months.
  • The Woodstock Film Festival will celebrate its 23rd Anniversary September 28 through October 2. Films and industry panels will be presented at venues throughout the Hudson Valley in the towns of Woodstock, Kingston, Rosendale, and Saugerties – and online.
  • The 16th Annual Berkshire International Film Festival gets underway June 2–5 in Great Barrington and Lenox and features another blockbuster weekend line-up of films, events, and incredibly special guests. Marked with strong international programming and an ongoing commitment to presenting the best in documentary film, the festival brings together films, filmmakers, industry professionals and fans for a four-day celebration.Highlights include the 2022 BIFF Honoree is Multi Award-Winning, Legendary Actor Alfre Woodard, the showing of Documentary Film "Art & Krimes" by Krimes about Acclaimed Artist and Activist, Jesse Krimes; the Northeast Premiere of Award-Winning Film "Pretty Problems," Tea Talks Featuring artists Don Gummer and Stephen Hannock; and an Intimate and Wide-Ranging Conversation with Female Directors, Writers and Producers.   • The 2nd Annual Albany Film Festival -- featuring a number of "bookish" events, and events that emphasize writing – will be presented by the NYS Writers Institute on Saturday at the University at Albany. The Albany Film Festival is a very story-focused festival, with conversations about filmmakers as storytellers, book-to-film, writing vs. visual storytelling, screenwriting, criticism, and film history and biography. The emphasis is more on conversation and Q&A with guests than on screenings of full films. NYS Writers Institute Director Paul Grondahl is here to preview the festival and explore the intersection of writing and cinema.
  • The Berkshire International Film Festival is hosting the regional debut of “Down with the King” at The Mahaiwe in Great Barrington, Massachusetts on Thursday, December 9 at 7 p.m. Diego Ongaro joins us.
  • FilmColumbia, Columbia County’s premier annual cultural event, will return, October 22-31, after last year’s hiatus due to the pandemic. The 10-day festival in Chatham, NY, will present world-class independent and international features and documentaries, plus post-screening Q&As with directors and special tributes, all presented by The Crandell Theatre.The geographic and artistic scope of FilmColumbia 2021 will be on full display via feature and documentary films hailing from more than 35 countries, as well as the latest releases from award-winning directors Pedro Almodovar and Wes Anderson and theater legend James Lapine. The festival also will feature distinctive performances by many of the world’s most celebrated actors, including Timothy Chalamet, Olivia Colman, Penelope Cruz, Benicio Del Toro, Colin Firth, Glenda Jackson, Frances McDormand, Bill Murray, Josh O’Connor, Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Schumer, Tilda Swinton and Jeffrey Wright.To tell us more about the festival – we welcome Calliope Nicholas - executive director of FilmColumbia.   • The Woodstock Film Festival will be celebrating its 22nd Anniversary September 29 - October 3, 2021 at indoor and outdoor venues in the Hudson Valley towns of Woodstock, Kingston and Saugerties, and online. The festival will also present a series of intimate panels with prominent industry figures, as well as live musical and comedy performances and other special events.
