There has been a lot of focus on the Democratic primary race for New York state attorney general, which ends when polls close tonight at 9. Four candidates want the chance to run against Republican Keith Wofford and the Green Party’s Michael Sussman in November. Two are from the Hudson Valley. WAMC’s Hudson Valley Bureau Chief Allison Dunne caught up with them earlier today.

Democrat Zephyr Teachout says that if elected New York attorney general she will investigate whether Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo has used state resources for campaign purposes.

Zephyr Teachout, one of four candidates running in the Democratic primary for New York Attorney General, says battling corruption in state government would be a top priority if she’s elected. In the past few months, several former associates of Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo have been convicted of bribery and bid rigging, and both former legislative leaders were found guilty on corruption charges.

There’s a four-way Democratic primary for New York attorney general to replace Eric Schneiderman, who resigned over allegations he physically abused women he dated. One of the candidates, Zephyr Teachout, was at the capitol Monday for several events, including an endorsement by Assemblyman Phil Steck. Steck is one of the only state legislators who was a Bernie Sanders delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 2016.

Zephyr Teachout is one of four candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for New York state attorney general in September’s primary. The Fordham Law School professor and constitutional law expert ran against Governor Andrew Cuomo in 2014 and against Republican John Faso in New York’s 19th congressional district in 2016. She told WAMC’s Hudson Valley Bureau Chief Allison Dunne why voters should select her.

Former New York Democratic congressional candidate Zephyr Teachout is joining other anti-corruption activists Thursday to deliver petitions to Trump Tower. The petitions demand that President-elect Donald Trump sell his assets to eliminate conflicts of interest between his role as president and business owner.

A new poll released Sunday shows Republican candidate for New York’s 19th congressional district John Faso with a six-point lead over Democrat Zephyr Teachout.

The race for New York’s 19th Congressional district seat is one of the most closely watched in the country. The candidates are giving voters a clear choice, as Republican John Faso and Democrat Zephyr Teachout stand on the opposite ends of several issues. They’ve also given voters a lot of face time, having participated in a number of debates and forums.

U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders rallied Friday in New Paltz for Zephyr Teachout, the Democratic candidate for the 19th Congressional district seat. It’s a race that has drawn national attention. Sanders repeated some of the themes from his presidential campaign, saying Teachout believes in the same. With the State University of New York at New Paltz one block from the park, many of those in attendance were college students.

The first debate between the candidates for New York’s 19th Congressional district seat is in the books. Republican John Faso and Democrat Zephyr Teachout faced off today at WAMC’s performing arts studio, the Linda. The debate between two former gubernatorial candidates mostly stuck to the issues.

It was their first debate. They are running to replace retiring Republican Congressman Chris Gibson.

Zephyr Teachout has defeated Will Yandik in the Democratic primary in New York’s 19th congressional district. She faces Republican John Faso, who beat Andrew Heaney in the Republican primary. The seat is open as Republican Chris Gibson chose not to seek re-election.

Democratic and Republican voters in New York’s 19th Congressional District head to the polls today. Democrats are choosing between Zephyr Teachout and Will Yandik while Republicans may vote for John Faso or Andrew Heaney. The competitive seat is open as Republican Chris Gibson is not seeking re-election.
