  • WAM announced its 2024 season yesterday and we’re going to hear about the planned productions and initiatives.Co-Founding Artistic Director Kristen van Ginhoven, friend of the program, recently abdicated that position and this morning we get to meet the new AD – Genée Coreno – she joins me in studio along with Associate Artistic Director Talya Kingston.
  • WAM Theatre presents “Me and the Sky” a celebratory evening of empowering Broadway hits focused on the full array of women’s stories. The cabaret-style evening will feature songs from Rent, Come From Away, Newsies, Shucked, Waitress, and more. WAM’s “Me and the Sky” will have performances Nov. 1-4.

  • WAM Theatre is in the house to tell us about their MisCast Cabaret - a special one-night-only benefit performance hosted by Tony Award and Drama Desk Nominee Jayne Atkinson on Thursday, July 7th at 7:30 PM at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington, MA.In the MisCast Cabaret, WAM artists, accompanied by live musicians, will perform favorite Broadway songs from roles in which they would not traditionally be cast. It is a fun way to question traditional casting while singing along! Hear your favorite songs from Hamilton, South Pacific, Fiddler on the Roof, and more performed in ways you haven’t heard before.The benefit performance supports WAM Theatre’s Education and Community Engagement programs— empowering and uplifting women and girls in Berkshire County and beyond.   • In May, Kim Senklip Harvey became the first Indigenous playwright to win the Governor General’s Award for English Language Drama for "KAMLOOPA" which is being performed by WAM Theatre in the Berkshires through October 24 and streaming digitally November 1-7. Kamloopa is the largest powwow on the West Coast. This high energy comedy follows two urban Indigenous sisters and their encounter with a lawless trickster, as they explore what it means to honor who they are and where they come from.
