Hudson Hall in Hudson, New York has commissioned an ambitious multi-year series of operas by Handel with the daring, internationally acclaimed director (and Hudson resident) R.B. Schlather.The first in the series, Rodelinda, premieres at the hall on October 20. There will be 6 performances between October 20-29.

A new three-part documentary film “Regenerating Life” will have its world premiere at Time & Space Limited in Hudson, New York on October 8th at 1:00 p.m. The documentary is produced by Hummingbird Films and focuses on the climate crisis.

"Terraforming: Olana’s Historic Photography Collection Unearthed" is now on display at Olana State Historic Site. We got a preview of the exhibit this morning from the President of The Olana Partnership, Sean Sawyer and independent curator and historian of photography, Corey Keller.

David McIntyre is a Scottish photographer, filmmaker, and artist based in the Hudson Valley of New York. In his early career, he achieved acclaim in photojournalism, portraiture, and fashion photography. McIntyre’s latest exhibition, “Walking” is currently on view at Hudson Hall.

On Saturday August 26 at 7 p.m. and Sunday August 27 at 4 p.m., acclaimed dancer-choreographers Jodi Melnick and Maya Lee-Parritz will present the world premiere presentations of a new dance work entitled “Água Viva” at Hudson Hall in Hudson, New York.

The 2023 Hudson Jazz Festival takes place February 16-19 and 23-26 in Hudson Hall’s historic theater on Warren Street in Hudson, New York.

From 2016-2022, filmmakers Zuzka Kurtz and Geoffrey Hug documented six 1st generation Bangladeshi immigrants from Hudson, NY as they graduated high school and journeyed to colleges around the northeast. The unexpected political events of those years propelled the students to confront anti-immigrant sentiments, the #MeToo movement, forbidden love, and their parents’ idea of “The American Dream.”The resulting documentary film “Hudson, America” will screen at Hudson Hall in Hudson, New York on Saturday, February 4 at 4 p.m.

The Hudson Festival Orchestra will present ”Hudson in Concert: A Community Celebration,” on July 30, 2022. This free community event will occur in the Henry Hudson Riverfront Park in Hudson, New York from 4-9 p.m.

Tomorrow is Earth Day and Basilica Hudson is putting climate action at the forefront of its mission as it reopens this weekend for 2022. Founded in 2010 by musician Melissa Auf der Maur and filmmaker Tony Stone, Basilica Hudson is housed in a reclaimed, solar-powered 1880s industrial factory on the riverfront of Hudson, NY. In 2020, Basilica Hudson celebrated its 10-year anniversary with the expansion of BASILICA GREEN. Building on Basilica Hudson’s long-standing commitment to environmental advocacy and the City of Hudson’s waterfront. On April 24th, BASILICA GREEN programming will activate multiple spaces on campus inviting the community to celebrate Earth Day Weekend. Free activities will include a teach-in on greening the grid, environmentally-focused art and youth activities, a workshop on how individuals can divest from fossil fuels, food, live music and more. A new opera, theater, music and dance company is coming to Hudson, New York. Festival Theater Hudson incorporates modern dance, exciting visuals, and an overall thrilling experience across a full season of performances. Festival Theater Hudson will kick-off its inaugural season, beginning with a Gala Inaugural Concert and reception on October 16.
