A college in Dutchess County, New York says there will be no tuition increase for the upcoming academic year.
The Marist College Board of Trustees voted to approve a zero tuition increase for the 2020-21 academic year. It’s an effort to recognize the unprecedented financial challenges facing many students and their families due to COVID-19. According to the Marist web site, tuition and fees are $45,430; room and board amount to $16,380. Last month, Poughkeepsie-based Marist announced the creation of a Student Emergency Fund, which will provide one-time grants for returning undergraduate students whose families have been hardest hit by the coronavirus crisis. Established by a member of Marist’s Board of Trustees, more than $200,000 has been raised to date.
