Kalos is a trio of innovative interpreters and composers of Celtic roots music—Eric McDonald, Ryan McKasson, and Jeremiah McLane. Masters of tradition with a taste for its shadowed edges, Kalos delivers music of striking complexity, spontaneity, and joyful exuberance. Driven by pulsing rhythm and deep artistic integrity, their sound reimagines Celtic, Breton, and American traditions on accordion, guitar, fiddle, and vocals. Long-standing friendships fuel a playful, high-energy stage presence, making live performance the heart of their artistry.
Opening the evening are harpist Rachel Clemente and piper Dan Houghton, leaders of New England’s Celtic folk vanguard. Rooted in Scottish tradition yet boldly avant-garde, the duo blends original compositions with traditional melodies. Clemente is the 2016 U.S. National Scottish Harp Champion and a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Houghton is an award-winning Scottish piper, flautist, and guitarist who has toured and taught internationally with numerous acclaimed ensembles.
Dust Bowl Faeries bring a faerie-tale of dark cabaret and gothic folk music to Caffe Lena on Friday March 6th at 8pm. The live concert will also be available for streaming.
Infused with dark humor, theatrical costumes and mystical lyrics, Dust Bowl Faeries perform songs spun from the very fabric of faerie culture and lore. Odes to changelings, pixies and otherworldly creatures are juxtaposed with stories culled from everyday life, peppered with a dose of witchcraft and a dusting of woodland magic.
Hailing from the NY Hudson Valley, Dust Bowl Faeries present original songs nuanced by tango, flamenco, Klezmer, Balkan and Romani swing music. Singing saw, accordion, bass, acoustic guitar and drums combine to create the Dust Bowl Faeries unique sound.

Hill and Hollow Music is proud to present Kiran Ahluwalia and her six piece band led by guitar virtuoso Rez Abbasi, live on April 12th at 3pm at the Historic Strand Theatre in downtown Plattsburgh. KIRAN AHLUWALIA is a modern exponent of the great vocal styles of India and Pakistan, which she honors intensely yet departs from in masterful, personal ways. With roots in Sufi, Qawalli, Ghazal, and Punjabi folk, she crafts her own contemporary songs that are equal parts reflective and groovy. The 2-time Juno Award Winner embodies the essence of Indian music while embracing influences from Mali and western blues, rock, R&B and jazz. With her 6-piece group of electric guitar, accordion, organ, tabla, bass and drum kit, Ahluwalia creates boundary-breaking songs that invite us to explore the human condition, creating a “transnational sound as fresh as tomorrow”.
