  • On Sunday afternoon, January 14, at 4:00 PM in Zankel Hall at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, The Battenkill Chorale will present “From Light to Night” featuring John Rutter’s “Requiem” scored for chorus, soprano solo, and chamber ensemble.Gene Marie Callahan is the conductor and Artistic Director. She was the organist and choir director for the First Congregational Church (Old First Church) in Bennington, Vermont, and is a Lecturer in Creative Arts at Siena College where she directs the chorus and teaches Basics of Singing.
  • James Burton was appointed Conductor of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, and to the newly created position of BSO Choral Director, in February 2017. He'll return to Tanglewood next week leading the Tanglewood Festival Chorus in a prelude concert at Ozawa Hall and then on August 20, the Tanglewood Festival Chorus will be on a program with The Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra featuring Tippett’s Five Spirituals from “A Child of Our Time” and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony in the Koussevitzky Music Shed.
  • Tonight in The Koussevitzky Music Shed at Tanglewood in Lenox, Massachusetts, Giancarlo Guerrero conducts Mahler 1st Symphony and “Her Story” by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer and Bang on a Can co-founder and co-director, Julia Wolfe."Her Story" was written for Lorelei Ensemble and orchestra, and co-commissioned by the Nashville Symphony, Chicago Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Boston Symphony, and National Symphony Orchestras. Beth Willer is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Lorelei Ensemble and she joins us.
  • Capital District Latinos has curated the West Hill Concert Series: Music is the Balm! All events will take place at Capital District Latinos Cultural Empowerment and Community Engagement Center on Central Avenue in Albany, NY.On Thursday, July 20 the Camerata Coral de Puerto Rico will perform music of the Caribbean and Latin America. The concert is presented in partnership with Albany Pro Musica. Amarilis Pagan-Vila is the Music Director and Conductor of the Camerata Coral de Puerto Rico and she joins us.
  • The final concert of Albany Pro Musica’s current season explores Music for Peace in a Time of War on Sunday, May 7th, at 3 p.m. at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. Albany Pro Musica's Opalka Family Artistic Director, José Daniel Flores-Caraballo joins us this morning."Music for Peace in a Time of War": The final concert will music by Ralph Vaughn Williams and Franz Joseph Haydn. Guest baritone Philip Lima will return to share the stage with the Albany Pro Musica Concert Chorus, Masterworks Chorale.

  • Albany Pro Musica will be presenting an amazing work sung in Russian, Rachmaninoff's "All-Night Vigil" on Sunday, March 6 at 3 p.m. at The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. While long planned, the concert is now being presented as a statement in solidarity for the Ukrainian people. Rachmaninoff’s “All Night Vigil,” often referred to as “Vespers,” is one of the most celebrated choral works of all time and is beloved for its profound beauty and spirituality. The concert will open with wonderful Russian music for piano and violin, featuring guest violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn playing the famed “Red Mendelssohn” Stradivarius. We welcome Albany Pro Musica’s Artistic Director José Daniel Flores-Caraballo. He is a widely acclaimed conductor and musical director recognized for his artistry and integrity in stylistic performance of choral literature.
