Constantine Maroulis stars as Alan Freed in "Rock & Roll Man: The Musical" at New World Stages
Alan Freed was a Cleveland radio DJ who helped popularize rock and roll in the early 1950s. The new musical about his life, “Rock & Roll Man,” opened off-Broadway at New World Stages on June 21.“Rock & Roll Man” features classics created by legends such as Little Richard, Chuck Berry, LaVern Baker, Buddy Holly, Bo Diddley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, as well as original songs written just for the stage by Gary Kupper, who also penned the book for the show with Larry Marshak and Rose Caiola.Rock & Roll Man, starring Tony Award-nominee Constantine Maroulis and Emmy Award-winner Joe Pantoliano. Maroulis plays the Rock & Roll Man himself and he joins us now. His stage credits include Broadway’s Rock of Ages (Tony nomination), RENT, Jesus Chris Superstar, and more. Maroulis also has an active career as a concert performer and competed on season 4 of “American Idol.”

"How to Raise an Anti-Racist" by Ibram X. Kendi now in paperback
Dr. Ibram X. Kendi is the Andrew Mellon Professor in the Humanities at Boston University and the founding director of the BU Center for Antiracist Research. Kendi was recognized as one of TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World, and awarded a 2021 MacArthur Fellowship, popularly known as the Genius Grant. He joins to to discuss the paperback release of his, "How to Raise an Antiracist" (One World).

PS21 2023 Season Preview
PS21 is an arts center located in Chatham, New York. Founded in 2018, the sprawling property encompasses a state-of-the-art black-box and open-air theaters; 100 acres of fields, meadows, woodland trails, and orchards.In June, PS21 launched its 2023 season with the 10th anniversary edition of The NEXT Festival of Emerging Artists. The season continues with more than fifty unique events, featuring a constellation of celebrated and emerging dancers and choreographers, musicians and singers, actors, directors, and international street artists.To tell us more, we welcome Elena Siyanko - Executive and Artistic Director of PS21.

Summer 2023 at The Tang
Summer at the Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College features new expanded hours and two of the Tang’s most popular traditions: the “Upbeat on the Roof” concert series and the community open house, Frances Day, in honor of the museum’s namesake, Frances Young Tang.
