NY Congressmen Receive Inaugural U.S. Chamber Of Commerce Awards

A few New York congressmen are recipients of a new award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The new Jefferson-Hamilton Award for Bipartisanship recognizes members of Congress who have demonstrated a willingness to work across the aisle in support of common objectives. The award is based on the number of bills a member cosponsors introduced by a member of the opposite party. The award went to 20 House members, including, from New York, Republicans Tom Reed, Peter King and John Katko along with Democrats Anthony Brindisi and Antonio Delgado. Brindisi was the only New York representative to receive another new Chamber award — the Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America Award, which is based on the number of times a member took recommended actions of the Chamber of Commerce about whether to cosponsor certain bills.
