These events are made possible by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Institute of Museum & Library Services, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature, and friends and members of the Iroquois Museum. Voices in Stone: A Journey of Seals Across Cultures brings the traditional Chinese art of stone seal carving into a modern, multicultural context. The project will feature twenty hand-carved seals that blend Eastern technique with Western meaning, using words and phrases drawn from poetry, philosophy, scripture, and names familiar to American audiences.
By combining meaningful Western texts with the aesthetics of Chinese seal carving, the project creates a quiet dialogue across cultures, inviting viewers to reflect on shared values and the beauty of cross-cultural expression.

September 1 - December 5, 2026 Light and Transient CausesIn the 250th anniversary year of the Declaration of Independence, this exhibition takes its name from a line in the document that suggests that some grievances may prove too fleeting to justify revolution—and considers asymmetries of perception of what is deemed light enough to ignore, transient enough to postpone. Curated by Marisa Espe.
FRI Nov. 6, 6:30pm to 7:30pm FIRST FRIDAY music with Belle-Skinner
Belle-Skinner is a dark nostalgic singer-songwriter based in New York. With a hauntingly beautiful, lilting soprano and innate sense of melody she crafts tales of songbirds, sirens and desert nomads - nuanced and layered stories which bridge the gap between past and present. Though her influences cover a broad range of genres - from French chansons and Russian folk to contemporary alt-pop and rock - her voice often draws comparisons to the likes of Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush, Jeff Buckley, Mary Hopkin, and early St. Vincent.

Turn up the volume and step into the smoky, riff-driven world of Texas blues rock as ThunderBeard brings the gritty swagger of ZZ Top to the stage. With authentic showmanship, signature beards and plenty of guitar, ThunderBeard recreates the raw energy of “That Little Ol’ Band from Texas,” delivering a live experience that captures the attitude, sound and cool that defined a generation.
The show dives deep into ZZ Top’s blues-soaked 1970s era with classics like “La Grange,” “Waitin’ for the Bus” and “Brown Sugar,” then shifts into the slick, synth-infused hits that dominated the MTV-driven 1980s, including “Gimme All Your Lovin’,” “Sharp Dressed Man” and “Legs.” From dusty barroom grooves to arena-ready anthems, ThunderBeard spans decades of iconic rock with note-perfect musicianship and high-energy performance.
Packed with driving rhythms, guitars and unmistakable Southern rock swagger, this is a full-throttle celebration of one of rock’s most legendary bands. Whether you grew up with vinyl, cassette or MTV, ThunderBeard delivers a night of gritty ’70s blues rock and ’80s cool that will have you singing along from the first riff.
