Drawing classes for Grades 5-8. Join our drawing class for aspiring young artists and explore the FUNdamentals of drawing! The class will cover traditional drawing techniques and materials such as pencils, colored pencils, charcoal, pens, and other dry media. Students will practice and learn various drawing skills, such as still life, architectural drawing, and portraiture. Get ready to enhance your drawing skills and unleash your creativity! Learn various basic binding techniques to create several small artist books! Participants will explore accordion and sewing techniques to design frame books, tag books, Japanese four-hole binding, and Japanese butterfly four-needle binding. Proper folding, paper grain direction, and simple tearing, cutting, and sewing will be emphasized to make bookmaking accessible to all levels. We may even get into some pop-up techniques if time allows!

Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature during a Forest Bathing walk led by certified practitioner Ebony LaBrew. This quiet, slow-paced walk will offer a reprieve from the busyness of everyday life as you are guided through a series of invitations that welcome you to explore the natural environment through your senses.
Students can explore various materials and concepts in small groups through hands-on art-making. By utilizing painting, drawing, and printmaking techniques, students will explore the creation of two-dimensional space, dynamic compositions, layered materials, images, and methods to express themselves and represent what they see in the world around them. 6 sessions on Saturdays May 4, 11, 18, June 1, 8, 15 (no class on May 25)
Join artist Joan Hall for a drop-in workshop focusing on collage techniques and composition. Learn about Hall’s collage practice and try your hand at creating your own unique collage. This program is for all ages and is free with museum admission. If you would like to attend the lecture as well, you will be prompted to reserve your space in the checkout below your Museum Admission.
Cyndee Fand, Wire Wrapping Workshop, $35/person registration fee plus $15 materials fee payable to instructor day off. In this workshop, you will wrap stones about 2" in diameter to make a pendant. Bring your own stone if you have a favorite! You will go home with a finished pendant.
This summer, CLC is hosting a series of programs where participants can learn more about and try land management techniques in a supportive environment so that you can feel comfortable implementing them at home! This series of workshops is ideal for those who are already actively managing their land, those who would like to get started, and those interested in learning more about how CLC manages the properties we care for.
This first workshop at Ooms will focus on field and grassland management practices, led by speakers Patrick Knapp, CLC Public Lands Manager, and Ben Nickley, President and Executive Director of the Berkshire Bird Observatory. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about healthy fields and grasslands, and how techniques like livestock grazing can positively impact regionally-rare grassland birds like the bobolink and Eastern meadowlark.
What’s involved: This event will include walking approximately two-miles over grassy and muddy terrain on the Pond Loop, Meadowlark, and Monarch trails, with frequent stops to discuss grassland bird habitat and land management. The event will include going off trail for .1-miles over uneven terrain.
Packing list: Water, weather appropriate clothing and footwear, and a way to take notes (notebook, smart phone).
What not to bring: Please no dogs.
