A town hall meeting has been scheduled for Thursday evening to address Time Warner Cable’s dominance in the Capital Region.
Elected officials will join community and union members for a public forum at 6 at Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity, 316 Congress St., Troy, to discuss breaking what activists call a cable monopoly across the area. Patrica Cumo:
"The reason that we would like people to attend is to bring attention to the fact that we don't have competition within urban areas for high-speed internet."
Cumo and others are calling upon the Public Service Commission to protect consumers and jobs over cable company profits.
