Vermont held its statewide primary Tuesday, setting the stage for November’s general election.

Vermont’s statewide primary is today. In key races, Democratic voters are choosing a candidate for governor and both Democrats and Republicans are choosing their candidates for lieutenant governor.

Two Democrats running in a primary to challenge the most popular governor in the country debated on WCAX Thursday evening.

Vermont Governor Phil Scott announced on social media Saturday that he will run for fifth two-year term. It was not a surprise to many in Vermont.

Charlestin is the first candidate to declare a run for governor in the 2024 race.
