Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned that the U.S. “will definitely pay a heavy price” should it attack Iran again. The comments on Thursday came in the wake of an attack on Sunday in which American forces hit three Iranian nuclear facilities with bunker-buster bombs and cruise missiles. Iran retaliated on Monday with a missile attack on a U.S. base in nearby Qatar. But it caused no casualties.

The man suspected of killing a Minnesota lawmaker and wounding another has been taken into custody, ending a nearly two-day search that put the entire state on edge. Vance Boelter was arrested Sunday evening. Former Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, were killed in their Brooklyn Park home early Saturday in the northern Minneapolis suburbs. Sen. John Hoffman, also a Democrat, and his wife, Yvette, were injured at their Champlin home, about 9 miles away. Boelter was arrested in a rural area in Sibley County, southwest of Minneapolis.

The vocal critic of President Donald Trump won against five experienced rivals. She becomes the Democrats’ standard-bearer at a time when the state party is looking to win the governorship for a third straight term and the national party is looking for new leadership. She will face the Republican nominee, Jack Ciattarelli, in the November general election. He cruised to victory with the support of Trump.
