U.S. Senator Chris Murphy is scheduled to speak at his alma mater Williams College on Monday.The Connecticut Democrat joined the Senate in 2013 after serving in the U.S. House of Representatives and both branches of the Connecticut legislature. The 1996 Williams graduate mentioned his visit on WAMC’s Congressional Corner.
“[It’s] my first sort of official visit to my alma mater as a U.S. Senator…I’m excited,” said Murphy.
Murphy is expected to talk about the daily life of a U.S. senator and the internal struggles of the modern Democratic and Republican parties.
The event starts at 7 o’clock. It is free and open to the public.
