The Berkshire Immigrant Center and the Norman Rockwell Museum are partnering on an annual U.S. citizenship naturalization ceremony Saturday in Stockbridge.Brooke Mead of the Berkshire Immigrant Center, which provides citizenship assistance, says half of the 23 people taking the oath of allegiance to the U.S. Saturday are clients of the agency. The ceremony will take place in sight of Rockwell’s iconic 1943 Four Freedoms paintings depicting freedom of speech and worship and freedom from want and fear.
“It is indescribable to a part of something where you’re looking at such a quintessential signature of American history…one of our great artists and thinking about the freedoms that we have because we are U.S. citizens,” said Mead.
The ceremony starts 10 o’clock Saturday. Click here for more information.
