Happening Today: People Vs. Shell Rally

A rally: "People Vs Shell" will be held in New Paltz  Saturday, May 23rd, 3-5pm, as part of the Greenpeace SAVE THE ARCTIC Campaign.  The rally links with national protests against Shell's plans to start drilling for oil in the Arctic Ocean this summer.

Concerned members of the public are invited to assemble at the roadway in front of the Shell Gas Station (490 Main St. New Paltz) at 3pm and reconvene at 4 pm in front of the New Paltz Elting Library.  Participants will, then, walk to the bridge over the Wallkill River to mark the temporary installation of an environmental water sculpture: a simulated oil spill by, artist, Calvin Grimm.
