National Purple Heart Day is Wednesday, and events in the Hudson Valley region of New York begin Tuesday.
Representatives of combat-wounded veterans will be at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point along with other locales in the Hudson Valley for a number of events surrounding National Purple Heart Day. On Tuesday, there is a 5 p.m. ceremony at West Point, at Trophy Point. On Wednesday, there are visits to Washington’s Headquarters Historic Site in Newburgh and the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor museum in New Windsor. A Rolling Thunder motorcycle escort winds up at the Newburgh Armory Unity Center for a 5 p.m. public “Welcome Home” rally.
