New York Attorney General Letitia James, who was first elected to the office in 2018, defeated Republican challenger Saritha Komatireddy, a former federal prosecutor from New York City.

Democrat Cait Conley defeated incumbent Republican Congressman Mike Lawler Tuesday.

A ballot measure to consolidate the town and village of New Paltz was defeated Tuesday. Village residents opposed the measure 59% to 40%, according to unofficial results. Town residents opposed consolidation 64% to 35%.

Incumbent Democrat U.S. Rep. Pat Ryan comfortably won reelection in New York’s 18th Congressional District Tuesday, fending off Republican challenger Jackie Auringer.

The Democrat declared victory Tuesday night, with more than half of the districts reporting results in New York, defeating Republican opponent Joe Hernandez.

Democrat U.S. Rep. Josh Riley has won a second term representing New York’s 19th Congressional District, according to The Associated Press. Riley defended his seat from a challenge by Republican state Sen. Peter Oberacker.

Just one minute after polls closed in Massachusetts Tuesday, Democratic Gov. Maura Healey was declared victorious in her bid for reelection.

The Democrat defeated Republican John Deaton, a lawyer and former Marine. Markey defeated a primary challenge from U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton on his way to winning another term. He has served in the upper chamber of Congress since 2013.

Vermont U.S. Rep. Becca Balint is headed back to the U.S. House of Representatives for a third term, according to The Associated Press.

The Westchester County Board of Elections says issues with voting machines accepting paper ballots at polling sites throughout the county resulted from a barcode error.
