Hours After Repairs, Another Pipe Bursts In Troy

Troy city seal

Less than a day after a burst 33-inch water main was repaired in the City of Troy's Lansingburgh neighborhood, another pipe ruptured Saturday morning.

Department of Public Works employees were on hand Saturday morning to address the break in the 6-inch water line at Sixth Ave and State Street.

Troy Deputy Director of Public Information John Salka said the break has been isolated and streets have been reopened. A shutoff affected three nearby properties, two of which are vacant.

On Friday afternoon, officials announced the completion of repairs to the water main that burst last weekend, sending millions of gallons into the street and affecting several nearby communities.
