The Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation and the Berkshire United Way have teamed up to create a fund to support the region’s community-based organizations.
The COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund for Berkshire County is starting with over $600,000 donated by philanthropic groups, businesses, and individuals. Peter Taylor, president of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, says organizations can apply for grants from the fund online.
“We’re looking for trusted community organizations that have well-established networks in the community that are able to deploy these resources in ways that can meet immediate needs in communities,” said Taylor.
The grants are intended to “address gaps in services and increase capacity of organizations to meet basic needs of individuals and families.” There’s more about how to apply for a grant from the new fund here.
