The Berkshire District Attorney’s office on Wednesday released more details about its investigation into an alleged assault at a college in September. Authorities say campus safety received a call that a student of color was assaulted in a wooded area near Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington on September 27.

The DA’s office says the student at the early college campus told investigators that the student was rendered unconscious, dragged about 75 yards and awoke with cuts to the torso. But authorities say the student did not have any dirt or debris on them, the wounds did not match cuts to the student’s clothing and records did not provide a medical reason for unconsciousness. The student has not provided a description of the alleged assailant and none of the witnesses in the area report seeing anyone else in the vicinity.

The DA’s office says the investigation into the incident that has raised tensions at the college continues.
