A New York state assemblymember says the new budget includes money for a study on truck traffic in a Columbia County city.

Democratic Assemblymember Didi Barrett says she secured $100,000 in the 2019-2020 state budget to conduct a study to reduce truck traffic in Hudson. She says the study aims to identify patterns and devise alternate, less disruptive routes. Barrett says truck traffic has been a major safety and quality of life issue in Hudson for decades. Barrett has been in discussions with Hudson officials, the Department of Transportation and the governor about the issue. She says the study will help collect the data needed to develop an informed solution.
