The death of actor Chadwick Boseman on August 28 from colon cancer at the age of 43 came as a shock. Perhaps best known for portraying Jackie Robinson in the film “42” and suiting up as Black Panther, Boseman had been diagnosed at stage 3 in 2016, but never spoke publicly about it, privately undergoing countless surgeries and chemotherapy, according to his family.

To learn more about the deadly disease, WAMC's Jim Levulis spoke with Dr. Asra Batool, a gastroenterologist at Albany Medical Center.

Jim was WAMC’s Assistant News Director and hosted WAMC's flagship news programs: Midday Magazine, Northeast Report and Northeast Report Late Edition.
