YNN/Siena Release Albany Mayoral Poll

According to a new YNN/Siena College poll released early  Sunday, there's a clear-cut front runner in the race for Mayor of Albany as the Democratic primary approaches.

The survey shows Albany City Treasurer Kathy Sheehan has a wide lead over Corey Ellis: 68 per cent to 20 per cent.

58 per cent of likely voters in the primary have a favorable view of Corey Ellis - while  76 per cent have a favorable view of Kathy Sheehan.

The poll also asked voters "what are the top issues" facing the city:  they are economic development and taxes.   In recent days, Sheehan has been endorsed by Metroland and The Times Union - the first cited her performance as city treasurer, the second found her "more likely to succeed in setting the city's fiscal house in order."

Here's a link to the YNN/Siena poll.

The primary is Tuesday September 10th - polls are open from 12 noon to 9pm
