MCLA Presidential Search Narrows To Three

Facebook: Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts

Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts has chosen three finalists for its presidency, one of whom will likely succeed Mary Grant, now chancellor of University of North Carolina at Asheville.  The task now is to dwindle it down to one.MCLA’s Board of Trustees has selected Jane McBride Gates, Provost at Western Connecticut State University, Paula Krebs, a dean at Bridgewater State University and Greg Summers, Provost at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point as the finalists. They are scheduled to visit the MCLA campus in early February.

“They can expect to get a sense of the campus community, the campus, all of the different stakeholders and the dynamics and the culture of not just the campus, but also the community at large,” said Tyler Fairbank, chair of MCLA’s Board of Trustees.

The presidential search committee received 58 applications. The Trustees expect to recommend a finalist to the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education by March.
