WAMC's Dr. Alan Chartock discusses reports that President Joe Biden has dropped talks with Senate Republicans over his $1 trillion infrastructure plan, and explains why the GOP is opposed to something as popular as infrastructure. Dr. Chartock also comments on criminal justice reform in New York, and examines reports that the richest Americans paid little or nothing in federal taxes in recent years.

The program, for almost 12 years, highlighted interviews with Governor Mario Cuomo and now continues with conversations with state political leaders. Dr. Chartock also appears each week on The Media Project and The Roundtable and offers commentary on Morning Edition, weekdays at 7:40 a.m.
