Dean Owen Gathers Remembrances From Before And After 11/22/1963

All month long, we have been speaking with authors, journalists and public figures about their memories of President Kennedy and the dark Dallas day when he was assassinated.

Of course, JFK’s death cut short a vibrant life and unfinished presidency. It also opened the doors to a half-century of speculation about what happened in Dealey Plaza and what might have been in the White House.

Author Dean Owen has gathered many such remembrances in his new book, November 22, 1963: Reflections on the Life, Assassination, And Legacy of John F. Kennedy, published by Skyhorse.

A lifelong resident of the Capital Region, Ian joined WAMC in late 2008 and became news director in 2013. He began working on Morning Edition and has produced The Capitol Connection, Congressional Corner, and several other WAMC programs. Ian can also be heard as the host of the WAMC News Podcast and on The Roundtable and various newscasts. Ian holds a BA in English and journalism and an MA in English, both from the University at Albany, where he has taught journalism since 2013.
