2013 Solid Sound Festival - Urban Birding

  Greg Saulmon is an online editor at The Republican and MASS Live and is a respected local naturalist and photographer. He has lived and worked in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts for more than 30 years.

He is running several Urban Birding walks during the Solid Sound Festival with information on how to see and identify birds in cities. Urban Birding guided walks will depart from Courtyard A at MASS MoCA on Saturday and Sunday and Sunday at 10 am.

Dr. Alan Chartock is professor emeritus at the University at Albany. He hosts the weekly Capitol Connection series, heard on public radio stations around New York. The program, for almost 12 years, highlighted interviews with Governor Mario Cuomo and now continues with conversations with state political leaders. Dr. Chartock also appears each week on The Media Project and The Roundtable and offers commentary on Morning Edition, weekdays at 7:40 a.m.
Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
