2013 Solid Sound Festival - Storey Publishing

 Storey Publishing has been helping readers practice creative self-reliance for 30 years. They are a longtime creative tenant on campus at MASS MoCA and will be hosting a variety of other lifestyle workshops, activities and demonstrations throughout the Solid Sound Festival.

Demonstrations include: Cheesemaking, Beekeeping (with live bees!), Hot Sauce Making, a Home Brewing showcase, Backyard Chicken Keeping (with live chickens!), Foraging, and Pizza Making at MASS MoCA’s community wood-fired oven.

We are joined by Dan Reynolds, CEO and President of Storey Publishing; Alethea Morrison author of Homegrown Honeybees and creative director at Storey Publishing; and Crispina ffrench author of Sweater Chop Shop and used clothing alchemist.

Dr. Alan Chartock is professor emeritus at the University at Albany. He hosts the weekly Capitol Connection series, heard on public radio stations around New York. The program, for almost 12 years, highlighted interviews with Governor Mario Cuomo and now continues with conversations with state political leaders. Dr. Chartock also appears each week on The Media Project and The Roundtable and offers commentary on Morning Edition, weekdays at 7:40 a.m.
Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
