  • Two world premieres and new takes on Shakespeare lead off Shakespeare & Company’s 47th Season. The Lenox, Massachusetts based troupe presents “A Body of Water” by Lee Blessing; the World Premiere of “The Islanders” by Carey Crim; the Regional Premiere of “Flight of the Monarch” by Jim Frangione; the World Premier of “Three Tall Persian Women,” by Awni Abdi-Bahri; a lively staged reading of Jane Austen’s “Emma” – adapted by Kate Hamill; and, by the Bard – a staged reading of “The Winter’s Tale” and an outdoor production of “The Comedy of Errors.”
  • This December, Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, Massachusetts takes audiences to the lively world of Jane Austen-inspired theater with a costumed, staged reading of “Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley,” written by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon.The production is directed by Ariel Bock.
  • In the play, “Hymn,” now running at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, Massachusetts, two men meet at a funeral. One knew the deceased; one did not. They form a deep bond, but cracks appear as they begin to realize that true courage comes in different forms. The new play, filled with music, asks what it takes to be a good father, brother, or son.“Hymn” by playwright Lolita Chakrabarti features performers "ranney" and Kevin Craig West and runs through August 28 at Shakespeare & Company’s Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre. We welcome the production’s director – Regge Life.

Listen carefully: what will they reveal to each other, and what does each have to hide?A play about being human, an exploration of betrayal, and an appeal to listen before it’s too late, "The Approach" follows the story of Anna, Cora, and Denise as they converse over coffee about their shared childhoods and burgeoning middle-age, with much left unspoken.The Shakespeare & Company production of "The Approach" by Mike O'Rowe, will include both in-person and online performances. Directed by Mark Farrell and Tina Packer, "The Approach" features Nicole Ansari, Elizabeth Aspenlieder, and Michelle Joyner. It runs May 6 to May 29 at the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre in Lenox, Massachusetts.
