The NYS Writers Institute is partnering with the refugee and immigrant assistance organization, RISSE, to present a free screening of the award-winning documentary film, “Ultimate Citizens,” on April 29th at UAlbany’s Page Hall.

Nearly a year ago, migrants began arriving in Albany County as part of a political dispute stretching from the southern border to New York City. While the newcomers try to assimilate, local leaders say work continues to accommodate the new arrivals.

The Albany County Legislature Chairman stopped by a local non-profit Monday with a load of supplies for asylum seekers lodged in area motels.
