  • WAM Theatre presents “Me and the Sky” a celebratory evening of empowering Broadway hits focused on the full array of women’s stories. The cabaret-style evening will feature songs from Rent, Come From Away, Newsies, Shucked, Waitress, and more. WAM’s “Me and the Sky” will have performances Nov. 1-4.
  • For seven decades, the Williamstown Theatre Festival in Williamstown, Massachusetts, has brought emerging and professional theater artists together in the Berkshires to create a thrilling summer festival of diverse, world premiere plays and musicals, bold new revivals, and a rich array of accompanying cultural events.Williamstown Theatre Festival Interim Artistic Director Jenny Gersten joins us this morning to tell us about the season – which includes the return of the WTF Cabaret: a cabaret series curated in partnership with Tony Award nominee and Festival mainstay Christopher Fitzgerald. The WTF Cabaret will take place over three successive weekends and Cabaret All-Stars (Eden Espinosa, Asmeret Ghebremichael, and Jon-Michael Reese) will be a part of all three weeks with guest artists and hosts rotating each week.
  • Barrington Stage Company in Pittsfield, Massachusetts opens its first mainstage show of the season this week as Artistic Director Alan Paul directs “Cabaret.” Set during the twilight of the Jazz Age in pre-war Berlin, “Cabaret” is Kander and Ebb’s party at the end of the world with a book by Joe Masteroff; based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Chstirtopher Isherwood. “Cabaret” will play in Pittsfield on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage June 14-July 8. Krysta Rodriguez will take on the often bobbed and never forgotten role of Sally Bowles.
  • Tony Award and two-time Golden Globe Award Winner, Linda Lavin, will perform at the Southern Vermont Arts Center’s Arkell Pavilion on Thursday, August 18th at 8PM as part of the Broadway in Vermont Concert Series presented by Berkshire Bank.Linda Lavin, Love Notes is a CD release party with the great Billy Stritch at the piano and on vocals. A romantic and swinging collection of the Great American Song Book with some Brazilian and Steely Dan thrown in for dazzle!Broadway, TV, and film star Linda Lavin has received numerous awards: a Tony, a Drama Desk, an Outer Critics, a Helen Hayes, and in 2011, she was inducted into the Theater Hall of Fame. She is also a 6-time Tony Nominee. Linda is widely known for playing the title character in the TV sitcom Alice for 9 years, for which she is a two-time Golden Globe Award Winner.
  • The Fremonts are performing their show, The Failure Cabaret, locally before debuting it at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and 54 Below in NYC. You can experience the festival version of the show on Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24 at 7 p.m. in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts at The Foundry. Lurching between the silly and funny and the dark and ominous, The Failure Cabaret brings modern topics to life, embracing them through good, old-fashioned sinister vaudevillian charm. Stephanie Dodd and Justin Badger are Great Barrington locals and perform under the name The Fremonts.
  • Incomparable two-time Tony Award Chita Rivera winner will recreate signature moments from her legendary career at The Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on July 31. In addition to a tribute to her dear friends John Kander and Fred Ebb, the timeless music of Leonard Bernstein, Charles Strouse and Lee Adams, Jerry Herman and Stephen Sondheim will also be featured, accompanied by her long-time trio.
