The story of Matthew Shepard, a University of Wyoming student murdered in an act of hate in 1998, has become a rallying cry for advocates internationally against anti-LBGT violence.
A part of the upcoming Palace Pride Film Series at Albany’s Palace Theater is a screening of the documentary film “Matt Shepard is a Friend of Mine”. The film tells the story of the individual beyond the headlines.
After the suicide death of his younger brother, a victim of cyberbullying, James Clementi formed the Tyler Clementi Foundation.
Clementi will be speaking as part of the film screening on June 11th.
