NY Eyes Plan To Be First State To Ban Flavored E-Cigarettes

New York has a plan to ban the sale of flavored electronic cigarettes, which the Cuomo administration is calling an "emerging public health issue" among young people.

A spokesman for Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Friday that the Democrat is very concerned about the rise in e-cigarette use among youth and is looking for ways to curb the trend.

The state health department announced plans earlier this week for regulations banning the sale or possession of flavored e-cigarettes. The agency later rescinded them to allow more time for a legal review. The regulations will be republished and could then be adopted after a 60-day period of public comment.
