CIA Student Dies After Coming Into Contact With Wires While Hiking

Authorities in the Hudson Valley have identified a 19-year-old man who died after suffering an electric shock from utility wires at a site in Dutchess County.

Hyde Park police identify the victim as Noah Black, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, a sophomore at the Culinary Institute of America. Police say Black was with three other people hiking on property of the federally owned Franklin D. Roosevelt estate on Saturday. He had not been following a specific trail and police said he came into contact with low-hanging electrical lines. Emergency responders had to walk more than a half mile to reach Black, administered CPR, and brought him to MidHudson Regional Hospital of Westchester Medical Center, where he died. No foul play is suspected, but the police are still investigating and the cause of death is still pending.
