Unofficial returns have the candidates for New York’s 113th State Assembly District separated by less than two points.

Democrat Carrie Woerner, who is leading in the contest against Republican Dave Catalfamo, says she expects voters to elect her to a fourth term once all absentee ballots are counted.

“I won independents and unaffiliated voters by about 65 percent last night, so I think the absentees are only going to increase my lead,” said Woerner.

Catalfamo, who has come closest to defeating Woerner since her first election to the Assembly in 2014, was not quite ready to concede Wednesday morning.

“I think it’s important to at least give that process a few minutes to work out,” said Catalfamo.

The 113th District includes parts of Saratoga and Washington Counties.
