NY Senate Tweaks SAFE Act

wikipedia commons

Empire State leaders have approved legislation  that makes changes to the SAFE Act.

The state Senate has voted 35-26 to tweak the landmark gun control law passed in the wake of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. The Senate passed changes yesterday that would allow a family member to inherit certain types of semi-automatic firearms when their owner dies and make pistol permit applications exempt from open records laws.
