Voters in Clarksburg, Massachusetts will take another shot at approving renovations at the town’s elementary school.
A proposal to expand the Clarksburg Elementary School fell short of the required two-thirds approval by just one vote in September.
Proponents hope a special town meeting scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday at the 66-year-old school will reverse that decision.
The renovation is expected to cost $19 million, with $11.3 million reimbursed by the state.
If approved, residents would see a tax rate increase of $3.25 per $1,000 of assessed value. The school was expanded in 1967 and 1972.
