The North Adams School Committee will cut nine full-time positions under a $17.3 million budget for fiscal 2018.
Spending is up 2 percent for North Adams Schools. Overall the budget is level funded, and offset by an appropriation of $250,000 from the school choice account.
State aid is down about $150,000.
North Adams also plans to consolidate resources by moving preschool into the elementary schools, and moving grade 7 into Drury High School.
Nine full-time positions were cut – two teachers and seven teaching assistants. A three-year contract with the North Adams Teachers Association was also approved, which carries a 1.5 percent increase in contractual raises over the first two years.
