Voters in the small Berkshire County town of Hinsdale will decide whether to recall the chair of the three-person select board Saturday.Voters in the town of roughly 2,000 will decide whether Select Chair Bonnie Conner should stay in office. Voters approved the ability to recall elected officials last year after the Select Board fired police chief Nancy Daniels. Daniels and her supporters have claimed Conner has a vendetta against her, which the select chair denies.

“As far I’m concerned I think we’ve done the right thing and I think we are doing the right thing,” Conner said. “We’re trying to comply with the law. This not a vendetta against somebody. This is not a personality contest.”

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has determined Daniels’ firing was retaliatory. Former select board member John Genzabella is on the ballot to replace Conner.
