New York's oldest fair will celebrate its 186th season with a variety of family entertainment, Friday night fireworks, midway rides for all ages and favorite fair food.
Gate admission includes live music on two stages, Circus Murcia (thrill shows, jugglers and clowns), Wild Wheels Wall of Death thrill show (motorcycle daredevils race along a vertical wall inside a giant wooden cylinder), an educational petting zoo and community exhibits.
Musical highlights: Vinyl Tap, Whiskey Crossing, Iron Cobra, Roxon, Mariachi Sol Mixteco, and tributes to AC/DC, Iron Maiden, KISS, Led Zeppelin, Meat Loaf, Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Pink Floyd, Tool, Van Halen and more
Fair admission: $10; $7 for ages 7-12 and 65+; free for kids 6 & younger
Unlimited ride wristbands (for riders 36" & taller) are $30 on site. Admission/ride combos are $31.25 before 4 pm July 23 or a Family 4-Pack for $81.75.

The sounds of the Capital Region return to the stage at the second annual WEXT Local 518 Fest, happening Saturday, July 25 from 2 to 9:30pm at Music Haven. Presented by WEXT, this all-day celebration shines a spotlight on the incredible talent of the Local 518 music scene with seven acts spanning indie rock, folk, Americana, pop, and more.
The festival kicks off at 2pm with The Sugar Hold, followed by Shannon Tehya performing as a duo at 3pm, the Alec Lewis Group at 3:45, and The Belle Curves at 4:55. Aila Chiar takes the stage at 5:55, with powerhouse roots rockers Sly Fox & the Hustlers at 6:45, finishing with fan favorites SIRSY close out the night at 8:20pm.
WEXT’s Local 518 Fest continues the station’s commitment to supporting and elevating local artists while bringing the community together for a full day of live music in one of the region’s most unique outdoor venues. Expect great performances, a welcoming atmosphere, and a showcase of the vibrant music community that makes the 518 special. Food vendors for the festival include Electro Taco and Mike’s Hot Dogs.

The Berkshire High Peaks Festival launches its 17th season with Moonlight Sonatas, the Festival's annual Faculty Concert, on Saturday, July 25 at 7 p.m. at The Tannery at The Darrow School in New Lebanon.
Before spending two weeks mentoring gifted young musicians from around the world, the Festival's internationally acclaimed faculty takes the stage together for an evening of chamber music featuring works by Mendelssohn, Rachmaninoff, and Kreisler.
The program concludes with a complete performance of Antonín Dvořák's Piano Quintet No. 2 in A Major, Op. 81, one of the most beloved and enduring masterpieces in the chamber music repertoire.The faculty includes Artistic Director Yehuda Hanani; mezzo-soprano Julia Bentley of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and the Grammy-nominated New Budapest Orpheum Society; violinists Ari Isaacman-Beck of the Dalí String Quartet and James Stern; violist Anthony Devroye of the Avalon String Quartet; pianists Alexander Shtarkman of the Peabody Institute and Max Levinson of Boston Conservatory at Berklee and New England Conservatory; pianist Tatiana Lokhina; and cellist Kivie Cahn-Lipman.
Presented free to the public, the concert offers a rare opportunity to hear internationally acclaimed artists perform together in an intimate setting as the Festival begins its newest chapter at The Darrow School.
