Another Democrat has joined the race for governor of Massachusetts. State Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz announced her bid Wednesday in a video.
I’m running for Governor because I’m tired of waiting for our government to live up to our hopes and our families’ needs. Real change starts with us. Join our movement: https://t.co/ibVGXFVcnQ pic.twitter.com/3kVHF1Y1IW

The Democrat talks about her family history and ticks off a number of key issues, from support for the proposed so-called “millionaire tax” constitutional amendment to closing the racial wealth gap in Massachusetts. Chang-Diaz was in Springfield this morning to meet privately with about two dozen Democratic activists, seeking their support for her primary campaign.
Harvard University professor Danielle Allen and former state Senator Ben Downing of Pittsfield have also announced campaigns. Republican Governor Charlie Baker hasn't said whether he will seek a third term.
