David Sedaris To Read At The Mahaiwe Before Fall Return To Northeast

We’re going to check in now with a frequent voice on these airwaves. David Sedaris, touring behind his latest book “Calypso,” will be in our region a lot this summer and fall. Sedaris will be reading and signing at The Mahaiwe in Great Barrington August 9, the Ridgefield Playhouse Oct. 9, The Egg in Albany Oct. 10, the Lake Placid Center for the Arts Oct. 12, and the Flynn Center in Burlington Oct. 14.

In addition to his many books and plays, Sedaris is a frequent contributor to “This American Life,” heard Fridays at 8 and Saturdays at 4 on WAMC, and the “New Yorker.”

A lifelong resident of the Capital Region, Ian joined WAMC in late 2008 and became news director in 2013. He began working on Morning Edition and has produced The Capitol Connection, Congressional Corner, and several other WAMC programs. Ian can also be heard as the host of the WAMC News Podcast and on The Roundtable and various newscasts. Ian holds a BA in English and journalism and an MA in English, both from the University at Albany, where he has taught journalism since 2013.
