New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is scheduled to meet with President Donald Trump on Thursday to hash out a dispute over the suspension of the state by the Department of Homeland Security from any Trusted Traveler Program. In Northern New York, the head of the regional chamber says a resolution is critical because there are severe implications for business and travelers who regularly cross the nearby border.

The Drum Boogie Festival is a free, family-oriented, multi-cultural, one-day music festival that celebrates diverse styles of music, dance and voice from around the world. This year’s Drum Boogie Festival will take place on Saturday, September 7 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Andy Lee Field in Woodstock, New York.

The festival brings together world-class talent and introduces audiences to a variety of styles involving percussion such as: Jazz, Japanese Traditional Taiko, African, Brazilian, Reggae, Classical, Steel Pan and more! This year’s festival includes Jack DeJohnette, NEXUS, So Percussion and Paul Winter among many others.

Garry Kvistad, Executive Director of the Drum Boogie Festival (Founder/CEO of Woodstock Chimes and NEXUS member) joins us this morning along with Seven-time Grammy winner Paul Winter.

  The Maverick Concert Hall was hand-built by artists in a woodland glade just two miles from Woodstock, NY in 1916.

The centennial season of the historic Maverick concert hall officially kicks off Saturday with a free concert for young people at 11 a.m. and a concert by renowned percussion group NEXUS at 8 PM.

The program features the premiere of Peter Schickele's “Percussion Sonata No. 3, Maverick." To tell us more we welcome musical satirist "Professor" Peter Shickele and NEXUS’s Garry Kvistad.

  On Sunday, April 19 at 3:00 PM Garry Kvistad will present The Harmonic Orchestra: NEXUS, Prana and Paul Winter at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kingston, NY as part of the 47th Annual Ulster Chamber Music Series.

Garry Kvistad, Grammy winner and member of NEXUS, a world renowned percussion ensemble, and founder of Woodstock Chimes, will host seven time Grammy winner, Paul Winter and Prana (Overtone Singers) for an amazing collaboration and extraordinary musical event.
