This summer, Outside Art in Plattsburgh, in conjunction with suicide prevention advocates, completed a mural adjacent to the middle school. It will be dedicated this weekend, but first came a community kickoff Wednesday evening to promote awareness and suicide prevention.

Body Care and Skin Care business - Beekman 1802 - was born when Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Dr. Brent Ridge moved to the historic Beekman 1802 farm in rural Sharon Springs, NY. There they found a tightknit community and 100 goats looking for a home. Next thing you know, they were making goat milk soap at the kitchen table. It has grown substantially.Last time they joined us, we were talking about their collaboration with the hit TV program, Schitt’s Creek. Now, they have a whole line of products based on the Netflix program, Bridgerton. They’ve also recently worked with Klinkhart Arts, to bring esteemed American muralist/sculptor John Cerney to their farm with an installation titled “Awe Goats.”

Through his print-based collages and sculptures, Yashua Klos explores the intersections among the human form, natural elements, the built environment, and social hierarchies. His practice employs a process of collaging woodblock prints to engage ideas about Blackness and maleness as identities that are both fragmented and constructed.His recent work takes on personal histories of race, identity, and familial ties. For the exhibition Yashua Klos: OUR LABOUR, curated by Johnson-Pote Director at The Wellin, Tracy Adler, the artist is creating an entirely new body of site-responsive collages and sculptures, and collaborating with Hamilton College students on a large-scale, collage-based wall installation at the Ruth and Elmer Wellin Museum of Art at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY through June 12.
