The Baltimore Ravens have ended the New England Patriots’ bid for a perfect regular season, leaving the San Francisco 49ers as the NFL’s only unbeaten team. Lamar Jackson ran for 61 yards and two touchdowns and was 17 of 23 passing for 163 yards and a score as the Ravens shredded the Patriots, 37-20.
Baltimore built a 17-0 lead, but the Pats drew within 23-20 before Jackson threw a five-yard TD pass to Nick Boyle just six seconds into the fourth quarter and scored on a one-yard keeper to ice the victory. The NFL's leading rushing attack amassed 210 yards on the ground, led by 115 yards from Mark Ingram. Tom Brady was 30 of 46 for 285 yards one touchdown and a fourth-quarter interception that set up Jackson’s game-clinching TD run. Baltimore is 6-2 after dropping the Patriots to 8-1.
The Bills are off to their best start since 1993 at 6-2 following a 24-9 win over the Redskins. Rookie Devin Singletary had 95 yards rushing and a 2-yard touchdown to help Buffalo spoil Dwayne Haskins’ first NFL start. Josh Allen threw for a touchdown, ran for another and was 14 of 20 for 160 yards through the air as the Bills dropped the Redskins to 1-8.
The Dolphins have their first win of the season after Ryan Fitzpatrick tossed two of his three touchdown passes to rookie Preston Williams in a 26-18 victory against the Jets. The ex-Jets quarterback completed 24 of 36 passes for 288 yards and led the Dolphins to their highest point total of the season. DeVante Parker caught a 17-yard scoring pass as both teams ran their records to 1-7.
The Eagles earned a 22-14 victory over the Bears as Carson Wentz threw for 239 yards and one touchdown to help Philadelphia move to 5-4. Jordan Howard ran for 82 yards and a score in the Eagles’ second straight win following a pair of lopsided losses. The 3-5 Bears had just 9 yards in the first half and trailed 19-0 before David Montgomery had a pair of 1-yard TD runs.
Mason Rudolph threw for 191 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the Steelers’ third consecutive win. 26-24 against the Colts. Minkah Fitzpatrick returned an interception 96 yards for a score as the Steelers improved to 4-4. Adam Vinatieri missed a go-ahead, 43-yard field goal with 1:14 remaining, dropping the 5-3 Colts out of first place in the AFC South.
Harrison Butker drilled a 44-yard field goal as time expired to send the Chiefs past the Vikes, 26-23, leaving both teams at 6-3. Butker also hit a 54-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter, tying the game and matching his career long. Matt Moore threw for 275 yards and a touchdown without a pick while starting his second straight game in place of Mahomes.
Melvin Gordon scored two touchdowns, Michael Badgley kicked four field goals and the Chargers ended the Packers’ four-game winning streak with a 26-11 decision over Green Bay. Gordon finished with 80 yards on the ground and Austin Ekeler added 70 as the Chargers rushed for a season-high 159 yards under new offensive coordinator Shane Steichen. Aaron Rodgers was 23 of 35 for just 161 yards and a late TD for the 7-2 Packers.
Russell Wilson’s fifth touchdown pass of the afternoon gave the Seahawks a 40-34 triumph against the Buccaneers in overtime. Wilson hit Jacob Hollister on a 10-yard TD on the opening possession of OT to tie his career high for touchdown throws and finish 29 of 43 for 378 yards. Jameis Winston engineered a scoring drive in the final minute of regulation and passed for 335 yards and two touchdowns before Tampa Bay dropped to 2-6. Seattle is 7-2.
Deshaun Watson was 22 for 28 for 201 yards and a pair of 1-yard touchdowns as the Texans stifled the Jaguars, 26-3. Carlos Hyde finished with 160 yards on 19 carries for the 6-3 Texans, including a 58-yard run that looked headed for a touchdown until Jags safety Jarrod Wilson stripped the ball at the 2. Gardner Minshew went 27-for-47 with two picks and two lost fumbles as Jacksonville dropped to 4-5.
The Panthers came away with a 30-20 win over the Titans as Christian McCaffrey had 166 yards from scrimmage and scored three touchdowns. Kyle Allen threw TD passes of 7 yards to McCaffrey and 12 yards to Curtis Samuel while improving to 5-1 this season as Carolina's starting QB. The Panthers forced three turnovers and sacked Ryan Tannehill four times, one week after allowing the 49ers to run for 232 yards and four touchdowns. Carolina is 5-3, and Tennessee is 4-5.
Derek Carr threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to rookie Hunter Renfrow with 2:04 remaining before the Raiders made an end zone stop to preserve a 31-24 triumph over the Lions. Josh Jacobs ran for 120 yards and two scores as Oakland received four TDs from rookies for the first time since the NFL/AFL merger. Matthew Stafford threw for 406 yards and three touchdowns, but he came up short on the final drive as Karl Joseph broke up a fourth-down pass in the end zone with 3 seconds left.
Brandon Allen sparked Denver's stagnant offense by throwing for two touchdowns in his first career NFL start and leading the Broncos past the stumbling Browns, 24-19. Allen threw a 21-yard pass to Courtland Sutton and a 75-yarder to rookie tight end Noah Fant. Phillip Lindsay ran nine times for 92 yards and a touchdown as the 3-6 Broncos dropped the Browns to 2-6.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL
LSU and Alabama will remain the top two teams in the Associated Press football poll when they meet on Saturday. The Tigers are seven points ahead of the second-ranked Crimson Tide. Ohio State, Clemson and Penn State round out the top five and are followed in order by Georgia, Oregon, Utah, Oklahoma and Florida. The first CFP standings of the season will come out Tuesday.
Syracuse coach Dino Babers has fired defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Brian Ward, effective immediately. Babers says in a release Sunday from the university that he felt "a change needed to be made at this time." The move comes a day after the Syracuse defense allowed a school-record 496 yards rushing in a humiliating 58-27 home loss to Boston College, which set a school record of its own with 691 yards offensively.
Florida State has fired second-year football coach Willie Taggart less than 24 hours after the Seminoles lost to rival Miami and with the team in danger of missing a bowl game for the second consecutive season. Taggart was 9-12 with the Seminoles, who won the national title in 2013 and have been in a freefall for the last three seasons. The Seminoles have not been ranked this season and were 0-5 against rivals Miami, Florida and Clemson under Taggart.

De'Aaron Fox scored 24 points and Buddy Hield had 22 in the Kings’ 113-92 pounding of the Knicks. Harrison Barnes added 19 points and Richaun Holmes finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds for Sacramento, which has followed an 0-5 start with back-to-back wins.
The Los Angeles Lakers remain unbeaten since their season-opening loss to the Clippers. LeBron James had a triple-double for the second straight game and the Lakers picked up their fifth straight win by downing the Spurs, 103-96. James finished with 21 points, 13 assists and 11 boards for Los Angeles, which got off to a sluggish start before outscoring San Antonio, 30-18 in the second quarter. Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard each had double-doubles to help the Lakers hand the Spurs their second loss in three games since a 3-0 start. Davis finished with 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Howard added 14 points and 13 boards in a throw-back performance for the 33-year-old big man. Dejounte Murray had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Spurs.
Kawhi Leonard scored 18 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Clippers to a 105-94 victory over the Jazz. Montrezl Harrell scored 19 points and Lou Williams added 17 to help Los Angeles overcome Donovan Mitchell’s 36-point effort for Utah.
Luca Doncic posted his second straight triple-double and third of the season by contributing 29 points, 14 rebounds and a career-high tying 15 assists to the Mavericks’ 131-111 laugher over the Cavaliers. Kristaps Porzingis added 18 points and nine rebounds, while Boban Marjanovic had 12 points and eight boards off the bench to help Dallas improve to 3-0 on the road for the first time since 2010.
Duncan Robinson scored 23 points and the Heat led by as many as 41 en route to an easy 129-100 over the Rockets. Meyers Leonard added 21 points to help Miami improve to 5-1, matching the best six-game start in team history.
T.J. Warren scored a season-high 26 points to send the Pacers to a 108-95 victory over the Bulls. Malcolm Brogdon had 22 points and seven assists in the Pacers’ third straight win since an 0-3 start.

Jakub Vrana is enjoying the month of November so far. The Washington Capitals left wing has followed his two-goal performance in Friday’s 6-1 win over Buffalo by registering his first career hat trick in a 4-2 victory over the Flames. Vrana’s third goal of the game snapped a 2-2 tie late in the second period. Vrana scored four goals in 14 games during October. Lars Eller added a power-play goal early in the third period as the Caps improved to 8-0-1 in their last nine games. Andrew Mangiapane had a goal and an assist for Calgary.
Robin Lehner made 36 saves and Patrick Kane scored 24 seconds into overtime as the Blackhawks won for only the second time in eight games, 3-2 at Anaheim. Rookie Adam Boqvist notched his first career NHL goal and Alex DeBrincat scored on a two-man advantage for Chicago.
MLB
The Cubs have exercised a $16.5 million option for next season on first baseman Anthony Rizzo and declined options on right-handers Brandon Morrow, Tony Barnette and Kendall Graveman. Rizzo won his third Gold Glove on Sunday. He agreed in 2013 to a seven-year, $41 million contract that included two club options. He would have received a $2 million buyout if the option had been declined. Rizzo hit .293 with 27 homers and 94 RBIs this year, ending a streak of four 100-RBI seasons.
The Royals have declined their half of Alex Gordon's $23 million mutual option for 2020, allowing the outfielder to become a free agent. The three-time All-Star and six-time Gold Glove winner batted .266 this year with 13 homers and 76 RBIs for the rebuilding Royals.
The Nationals have exercised 2020 options on lefty closer Sean Doolittle and outfielder Adam Eaton.
NASCAR
Kevin Harvick has won the fall Cup race at Texas for the third year in a row while taking one of the championship-contending spots at NASCAR's season finale in two weeks. Harvick started from the pole and led 120 of 334 laps in the No. 4 Ford for Stewart-Haas Racing. He took the lead for the seventh and final time on lap 255, and finished 1 1/2 seconds ahead of teammate Aric Almirola. Playoff contender Joey Logano finished fourth at the 1 1/2-mile Texas track to stay in title contention. Playoff contenders Denny Hamlin and Chase Elliott, had accidents that put them deep in the field.
F1
Lewis Hamilton has secured his sixth Formula One championship with a second-place finish at the U.S. Grand Prix. The British driver now ranks second in F1 history behind German Michael Schumacher's record seven titles. Hamilton has won the last three season championships and secured this one with two races left. Hamilton’s Mercedes teammate, Valtteri Bottas, won the race.
PGA
Colin Montgomerie has won the Invesco QQQ Championship in a playoff with Bernhard Langer. Montgomerie parred the first extra hole to end it after Langer needed four strokes to get out of a green side bunker. The 56-year-old Scot tapped in from 2 feet to end the second of three events in the PGA Tour Champions' Charles Schwab Cup playoffs. Montgomerie made a 40-foot birdie putt in regulation on 18 for a tournament-record 9-under 63, allowing him to tie Langer and 15 under.
LPGA
Defending champion Nelly Korda birdied the first hole of a three-way playoff to win the LPGA Swinging Skirts. Korda and Minjee Lee both birdied the final hole of regulation to finish at 18-under 270 and force a playoff with Caroline Masson, who shot a 68. In the playoff on the par-5 18th, Korda sank her birdie putt while Masson and Lee made par.
NYC MARATHON
Kenyan Geoffrey Kamworor has won his second New York City Marathon men's title in three years. Kamworor pulled away from countryman Albert Korir in the 24th mile and crossed the finish in Central Park at 2 hours, 8 minutes and 13 seconds.
In the women's race, Joyciline Jepkosgei powered away from four-time winner Mary Keitany in her first race ever at 26.2 miles.
