Polls Close In Vermont, Light Turnout Reported

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Polls have closed around Vermont in a mid-term election that appears to have drawn light turnout in many parts of the state.

Clerks in several towns expressed doubt during the afternoon that turnout would hit 50 percent of registered voters, though in places with hot local races, it was said to be a bit higher.

Election officers around the state began tabulating results as polls closed at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
