The Siena College men’s basketball will be looking for a new coach for the second straight season. George Washington University says on Twitter that it has hired away Jamion Christian. Christian came to Siena last year after coaching at Mount St. Mary’s. He overachieved this season with a Saints team that was picked to finish last in its conference. Siena wound up in the conference semifinals and finished 17-and-16. Christian had replaced Jimmy Patsos, who was forced out after a rocky five-year tenure.
We are thrilled to announce that Jamion Christian, who led Mount St. Mary’s to two NCAA Tournament appearances and turned Siena into one of the nation's most improved teams in 2018-19, has been hired as our head coach. #RaiseHigh https://t.co/W6UMYGdOxC pic.twitter.com/lOtQVPOCir
